Will you be lonely this Christmas?

In Kent Age UK have heard from 2,000 people who will only share a Christmas lunch thanks to day centres and local churches.

Will you be alone this Christmas? Is it the worst thing that can happen to someone in modern Britain, a Christmas without any company?

Have you ever spent Christmas day on your own? What was it like? How does the day pan out? Is it any different from any other day on your own?

Is it just elderly people who suffer loneliness at Xmas?

Have you received an invitation to spend the day with friends or family? Will you go?

Should we reward couples who get married?

Nick Clegg does not think so, he is against any tax breaks for couples who tie the knot.

Giving a speech today, Nick Clegg will say "We should not take a particular version of the family institution, such as the 1950s model of suit-wearing, bread-winning dad and aproned, home-making mother and try to preserve it in aspic," is he right?

Is marriage just a throwback to the old days, just an anachronism, or is it still a institution worth celebrating and even rewarding? Should the government reward you for making a particular personal choice?

We hear your stories, views and opinions.
