Call for a new Bombardier review, Derby City Council Budget announced

MPs call for a new review of Bombardier's failed multi billion pound Thameslink bid. Derby's council has agreed its budget to March 2013. Cuts to library, bus and park services have been confirmed.

MPs call for a new review of Bombardier's failed Thameslink bid which saw a multi-billion pounds contract awarded to Siemens, threatening train-making in the UK and thousands of jobs.
They want the National Audit Office to take a second look at the deal. The transport select committee says train travel in the UK could become more expensive if Bombardier closes its Derby plant.

Derby's decided how it'll spend its money until March 2013. The budget was decided at a meeting last night - with cuts to library opening hours, the dial-a-bus service and park rangers all approved. Up to five hundred jobs could go, starting next week.
