Ice Under Pressure
Dr Gabrielle Walker and Dr Andrea Sella perform a classic experiment with a block of ice in a laboratory. They sling a wire over a block of ice and wait to see what happens. Because of the properties of ice, the wire not only cuts through the ice, but the ice seals up behind it. This helps to explain some of the extraordinary effects of ice in the natural world.
