It's also been revealed that nearly a fifth of people across the Three Counties, who are retired or about to give up work, have slashed the amount they are saving.
People are setting aside an average of 拢340 less each month than they were a year ago. In Bedfordshire, 拢71m is being lost each year in retirement savings.
Simon and Lorna spoke to Darren Philp, the director of policy at the the National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF). They were also joined by Ray Chinn, the Head of Pensions at insurance firm LV.
