A man from St Albans whose son was killed in Afghanistan has accused the government of hypocrisy for trying to block compensation claims made by families of soldiers killed in Iraq.

The families of the four soldiers will have to wait at least a month for the high court to decide if their claims can go forward.

His comments come on the day Liam Fox the Defence Secretary gives the detail of the military covenant, which outlines the government's duty of care to soldiers and their families.
