Bernie Clifton and the England band
Former Crackerjack presenter, Bernie Clifton, joins Phil Kennedy to talk about his role as the trombonist in the England band, where he plays for nearly all England's football matches.
Did you watch the England game on TV last night? If you did you will have heard the brass band playing the theme music to The Great Escape.
They're known as the England Band and they follow the football team all over the world and they've got a famous member. Bernie Clifton, the former Crackerjack presenter, was in South Africa with the band during the World Cup last summer when a car parked on his foot. Although wounded, he soldiered on and played his trombone for the team - until their early exit.
Phil Kennedy spoke to Bernie this week, ahead of last night's game, and asked him how his foot is.
