For the last year, Kate Humble has been apprentice on the Beavan Family farm in Abergavenny, South Wales. She has been learning what it takes to be a shepherd, but as the summer began she faced her hardest challenge. Under the expert guidance of Jim and Kate Beavan, she tried her hand at shearing sheep. It was by no means easy, but Kate did discover why it is so important to remove the sheep's fleeces and just what a skilled job shearing is.
