Fairy Tales

Charles Hazlewood discusses the musical stories behind some familiar and less well known fairy tales. The music is performed by the Ulster Orchestra and the Choir of Methodist College.

Charles Hazlewood is joined by an audience of school students to discuss the musical stories behind some familiar and less well known fairy tales. These include items from Carl Nielsen's incidental music for Aladdin, Ravel's ballet Mother Goose and Humperdinck's opera Hansel and Gretel. The music is performed by the Ulster Orchestra and the Choir of Methodist College. Recorded at the Ulster Hall Belfast.
