How could she have been so stupid?
She (Emma Thompson) tries to identify and call over their waiter. He (Alan Rickman) tells her she was practically seducing the young man earlier. She teasingly calls him jealous. Although he denies it, his internal voice tells us that he is "madly jealous".
He distractedly ogles a waitress until She notices. He asks after her husband, the successful novelist she left him for. He can't believe that she made such a stupid choice, or that he allowed her to do it.
Her husband asked her to send his good wishes to him. The couple share a silent, charged moment.
