Filming in extreme conditions
Wildlife film-makers in the Arctic not only have to haul their equipment across the snow, but are forced to deal with nosy neighbours. With no motorised vehicles, members of the production crew drag all technical gear on a sledge, as they search for polar bears in the deep snow. These creatures do not appear to be easy to find during the day but, at night and once everybody is back at the hut, one hungry bear is particularly keen to grab attention. Filming animals in their habitat is highly unpredictable with many potential hazards and difficulties. The narrator is David Attenborough.
