Why grow hydrangeas?
Tatton Park exhibitor, Chris Benson of Brownthwaite Hardy Plants, talks about the hydrangeas he grows including the blue variety.
He specialises in serrata type Hydrangeas many varieties of which were introduced in the late 1950s.
Serrata Hydrangeas flower on this season's wood so are less susceptible to late frosts and they are generally smaller than Hortensia.
