The best of the world's arts, film, music, literature and music brought to you every day.
On today's programme: Romany Theatre, Logicomix, Slow Art, Mor Karbasi.
Romany Theatre
When it opened in 2003 in the Serbian village of Novi Karlovci, Suno E Rromengo (Gypsy Dream) became the first purpose built professional Rroma theatre in the world. Now they have also started an acting school. The Strand's Snezana Curcic visited the school and met the students.
Logicomix
Greek writer Apostolos Doxiadis talks to us about Logicomix - his bestselling graphic novel based on the life of the philosopher and mathematician Bertrand Russell.
Slow Art
"What is this life, if full of care we have no time to stand and stare?" Do we take enough time to enjoy and really appreciate art rather than just witness it? We look at a new movement to slow down our encounters with art rather than race through it.
Tom Moon's book 1,000 Recordings To Hear Before You Die is published by Workman Publishing.
Mor Karbasi
Mor Karbasi is an Israeli singer whose music mines her family's Sephardic lineage. Her debut album released in Europe earlier this year features traditional songs that were written or inspired by the Jewish culture of 15th Century Spain. Singing in Spanish, Hebrew, English and Ladino she is regarded as one of the new stars of World Music and she performs for us in The Strand's studio.
