Venice Bienalle
This year's Venice Bienalle has one of its largest ever contributions Arab countries. As well as Egypt, Syria, and Morocco the Gulf States of the United Arab Emirates are participating with not one but two pavilions showing off their architectural projects rather than putting artist's work to the forefront. Sylvia Smith was there to view the bold and ambitious Abu Dhabi plans with Abdulla Al Ameri.
