Chinese alligator courtship takes place in the twilight: at dusk and dawn during the rainy season, making the key piece of equipment a large umbrella to keep the camera dry. Cameraman Mike Lemmon needed five days of miserable dawn starts in the rain before the alligators finally deigned to display in filmable light.
