Melody Gardot
We introduce Jazz chanteuse Melody Gardot who is set to release her second album "My One and only Thrill" in March. With a sound that is somewhere between Madeleine Peyroux and Norah Jones, the album is expected to turn her into a global star.

World Theatre Day
World Theatre Day is celebrated annually on March 27 by the international theatre community. The Strand goes to Denmark to hear about a truly international celebration of the day being held at the Odin Teatret where 55 people from 22 nations have gathered together to train with the Odin's actors and take in shows each evening.

Singapore Theatre
Sam Mendes' production of Shakespeare's A Winters Tale opened in Singapore this week - starring Ethan Hawke and Sinead Cusack. Broadway productions are looking for new venues as the credit crunch hits their traditional audiences but even its Singapore backers are facing losses due to cuts in corporate spending and sluggish ticket sales.

Zena El Khalil - Lebanese blogger
The Lebabese artist and blogger Zena el-Khalil talks to Harriett about her first novel Beirut I Love You, her memoir of living in a city during and after the war.
