Canine Partners

Since 1990, Canine Partners, a national UK charity, has been on a mission to transform the lives of disabled people by partnering them with amazing assistance dogs. These partnerships help people to live more independent, connected, and fulfilling lives.
The charity trains assistance dogs to provide practical help with everyday tasks, including opening and closing doors, unloading washing machines, retrieving dropped items, activating buttons and switches, and even responding to emergencies. Beyond practical assistance, these dogs offer companionship and emotional support, significantly improving confidence, social connections, and self-esteem.
Canine Partners is dedicated to lifelong support, assisting each partnership until the dog retires and providing replacement dogs for as long as they are needed. Some individuals have been supported by Canine Partners for decades, benefiting from the assistance of multiple dogs over that time.
Over the past 35 years, the charity has transformed over a thousand lives. The impact extends far beyond, as friends, families, and communities also benefit from the independence and security provided to their loved ones.
Supporting Canine Partners in their 35th year will open doors for more disabled people, helping them to live more independent and fulfilling lives.

I'm delighted to present the Canine Partners 91热爆 Lifeline Appeal, having been involved with the charity since its founding in the early 1990s.聽
It was wonderful to be reminded of the amazing ways these dogs support disabled people when Dog Ambassador Daisie visited recently.聽
As you will see in the Appeal, a canine partner transforms lives, not only those of disabled people in the UK, but also those of their families and communities. Remember, Canine Partners provides lifelong support, at a cost of 拢50,000 per partnership. 聽
Please join me in supporting Canine Partners in their 35th year. Together, we can open doors to greater independence and fulfillment for disabled people.聽
Harriet and canine partner Fevro

In 2019, Harriet, who lives with a neurological condition, was partnered with Fevro. This partnership transformed Harriet's life, granting her newfound independence and confidence. Harriet says that being partnered with Fevro "opened up the world" to her again and is deeply grateful to Canine Partners. Harriet's story demonstrates the impact assistance dogs have on their partners, enabling them to lead more fulfilling, independent lives.聽
Sean and canine partner Lucas

Sean, who has Multiple Sclerosis (MS), was partnered with Lucas in 2018 and has experienced significant positive changes in his and his family's lives. Lucas provides practical assistance and support, bridging the gap where Sean previously felt limited in helping his young family. For instance, Lucas retrieves items for Sean's wife, Josie, and their children. When their daughter, Elsie, leaves her dolly downstairs, Lucas fetches it, ensuring she has it at bedtime. This seemingly small act profoundly impacts Sean, allowing him to participate more fully in family life. Sean says that Lucas has improved both his independence and confidence. Their partnership demonstrates the transformative role of canine partners like Lucas, providing both practical assistance and reassurance to individuals and their families.
Alan and canine partner Hamlin

Alan, who lives with Parkinson鈥檚 Disease, was partnered with Hamlin, a Golden Retriever, in 2015. Hamlin provides both companionship and practical support, eagerly assisting Alan from the moment he wakes. Alan describes Hamlin as having a "cheeky personality" that brings fun to their days. Alan considers Hamlin "amazing" and credits him with significantly improving his life. Their relationship demonstrates the life-changing impact of Canine Partners. Hamlin is an indispensable part of Alan's life.
