Holiday Scams and Student Finances

Holly Hamilton investigates a holiday scam and the online security questions it raised.

Holly helps Marion and her family get to the bottom of a travel scam which revealed potential flaws in their travel agent’s online security. Marion was targeted by scammers but even after alerting the online travel agent to what had happened, the fraudsters were still able to make changes to her booking.

Holly asks consumer expert Rob Lilley-Jones from Which what responsibilities companies have to protect their customers’ data and what options you have if you fear yours has been compromised.

Student, Millicent, and Tom Allingham from Save the Student, a website which shares budgeting tips and advice for students, discuss the financial pressures forcing some in third level education into homelessness.

Peter contacted the programme when he felt he was paying too much for his phone and broadband, as well as a TV package he wasn’t even using. Holly & the team investigate to try to help Peter reduce his bills.
