Felinto and Saba Alizadeh in session
Verity Sharp presents a remote collaboration session between underground Brazilian producer Felinto and Iranian kamancheh virtuoso and sonic experimentalist Saba Alizadeh.
Verity Sharp presents the latest in our series of remote collaborations, bringing together avant-garde Brazilian producer Felinto and Iranian kamancheh virtuoso and sonic experimentalist Saba Alizadeh.
A key figure in S茫o Paulo鈥檚 underground scene, Felinto is both a political agitator and a boundary-pushing musician. His diverse projects 鈥 ranging from film and theatre compositions to immersive installations 鈥 blend punk, dub, ambient, noise, and free jazz. Through his music, he explores themes of gender-based violence, conflict mediation, and the Black presence in electronic music, while also reclaiming public spaces for political art.
For this remote collaboration, Felinto joins forces with Tehran-born Saba Alizadeh, whose work merges the personal and the political through electroacoustic processing, improvisation, and mixed media. A master of the kamancheh, the traditional Iranian bowed string instrument, Alizadeh also incorporates modular synthesizers, field recordings, and no-input mixers to craft richly immersive sonic landscapes.
