Episode 6

Episode 6 of 6

Torrential rain hits the Highlands, flooding roads and fields. As conditions worsen, a missing person search becomes a desperate manhunt.

The Highlands are battered by two winter storms, threatening to cause chaos for locals and emergency services. The River Spey has burst its banks, and many roads are underwater. The police head out to warn motorists and tourists away from the worst affected areas. Then they conduct a quick tour of the local river network to see if an evacuation order is needed.

The water is high, but the police decide things are safe enough – for now. Then they get an alert for a high-risk missing person. He is believed to have travelled north from Glasgow and has disappeared. The police know he is familiar with some remote bothies near Aviemore, so they battle through treacherous conditions looking for any sign of him. When they learn there is a warrant out for his arrest and he has skipped a court appearance, the search turns into an urgent manhunt across a dark and flooded landscape.

Elsewhere, a woman is reported missing near Loch Ness. Concerned for her safety, her mother has called the police to report that she is suicidal. Officers Kari and Kevin get under way with an exhaustive search in the city centre, before they are guided to the banks of Loch Ness for a torchlit search for the woman in the hope they can reach her in time.

Back in the city, a gang of criminals have been on a rampage throughout Inverness. Response officers Mo and Nathan are called in to track them down. The thieves are traced to an address but as officers arrive, it’s clear they’re not going to give up easily, and appeals to open the door are met with sounds of a barricade. Things escalate when officer Mo discovers one of the criminals has escaped out a window.
