Orkney Folk Festival with The East Pointers in Session
Anna is live from Kirkwall at the start of the Orkney Folk Festival with live music from Norwegian fiddler Alexander Aga Røynstrand and a session with The East Pointers.
The Orkney Folk Festival kicks off this weekend! Anna presents live from Kirkwall with a show celebrating Orkney's rich musical culture and some of the acts visiting the festival this year. Festival Producer Craig Corse shares his festival picks and Norwegian master fiddle player Alexander Aga Røynstrand plays some live sets on the Hardanger fiddle.
JUNO Award-winners The East Pointers are redefining the ever-evolving genre – modern folk – with dancefloor-shaking, ceiling-rattling, electro-trad breakdowns, and a glorious combination of folk, pop and dance music. On their first Scottish tour since the passing of band mate Koady Chaisson, Jake Charron and Tim Chaisson join Anna in session ahead of their trip to Orkney this weekend.
