Can Churchill Get Ann to Africa?

An 80-year-old wants to sell her collection of curios to raise cash for a worthy cause. Items connected to Churchill, the Girl Guides and a Ugandan village go under the gavel.

A former pig farmer makes a last-ditch attempt to clear her home of unwanted belongings before old age prevents her decade-long fundraising campaign for an African charity. Ann has lived on her Shepperton smallholding for 70 years and has amassed a huge collection of curios and antiques. She hopes to cash in on a clear-out, with a goal of making 拢20,000 to support a Ugandan village.

Many of the antiques in Ann鈥檚 home are a homage to her travels around the world. Auctioneer Izzie Balmer picks out the items she thinks will raise the most money at the rostrum. While the hundreds of cheese labels will need to find a niche market, the 20,000 Scout and Girl Guide badges will certainly be worth a pretty penny.

The outbuildings and barns on the former farm offer great potential for restorer Robin Johnson. An African mask is broken and needs a trick of the trade for a neat repair, but it proves a fiddly job. The discovery of a Winston Churchill-related object sees Robin getting buff.

At auction, Izzie needs to find a big dog a new home and get Ann to Uganda with the money needed to build a worthy legacy.
