Actor Robert Carlyle starts his musical journey, choosing some of his favourite songs in Tracks of My Years, in this week's omnibus edition.

First coming to widespread attention with a memorable role in Cracker on ITV, Robert also lit up the small screen as the Highland policeman Hamish Macbeth, before two film roles in the mid-90s propelled him to superstardom.

Firstly, the part of Francis Begbie in Danny Boyle's Trainspotting brought widespread acclaim, and then playing Gaz in The Full Monty helped land the film a Bafta.

Other notable film credits include The Beach, 28 Weeks Later and The World Is Not Enough, plus he's continued to delight small screen fans with parts in Once Upon a Time, Stargate Universe and War of the Worlds.

Robert's latest TV project sees him return as Prime Minister Robert Sutherland in Cobra: Rebellion for Sky, where he stars alongside the likes of Victoria Hamilton, Jane Horrocks, David Haig and Marsha Thomason.
