Max Richter鈥檚 Recomposed is the composer鈥檚 celebrated 21st-century reimagining of Vivaldi鈥檚 The Four Seasons. Here, violinist Thomas Gould and the Britten Sinfonia give the Proms debut performance of Richter鈥檚 heady blend of acoustic and electronic sounds. Lera Auerbach鈥檚 reworking of Pergolesi鈥檚 Stabat Mater looks back to the 18th century, in the same way that Michael Tippett drew inspiration from Corelli in his Fantasia concertante.
