91热爆 Radio 4鈥檚 new series "Marianna in Conspiracy Land", presented by 91热爆 Verify鈥檚 Marianna Spring, explores the rise of conspiracy theories in the wake of the pandemic. Zara discusses why conspiracy theories have flourished in recent years with Quaker and author Alastair McIntosh, an Honorary Professor in the School of Education at the University of Glasgow.

The new 91热爆 drama series Best Interests tells the story of parents who are told by medical staff they wish to withdraw treatment from their seriously ill daughter. As well as portraying their heartbreak, the series raises ethical questions about continuing treatment to someone on life support, and what happens when the wishes of parents come into conflict with medical staff. Zara addresses the issues raised by the programme with medical ethicist and theologian Gina Menzies and Philip Blackledge, Rector of Holy Trinity in Melrose.
Refugee Festival Scotland runs from 16th-25th June and celebrates the creativity and resilience of people seeking sanctuary in this country. Sabina Kadic Mackenzie and Samir Mehanovic who fled Bosnia in the 1990s and have made their homes in Scotland discuss their experience of seeking refuge with reporter Anna Magnusson.
Ten years ago the Scottish polar explorer Craig Mathieson decided to use the skills involved in his craft to build the confidence of youngsters struggling with low self-esteem. The Polar Academy which puts teenagers through a rigorous ten day course of skiing, hauling sleds and equipment over ice and snow, has just celebrated its 100th graduate. Zara hears more about the work of the academy from from Craig and 15 year old graduate Holly Carroll.
