Joanna began her career as a model and muse for designer Jean Muir, before becoming an acress and Corrie's Ken Barlow's love interest Elaine Perkins. Her acting career has spanned over 5 decades, including roles in On Her Majesty's Secret Service and Sapphire and Steel; she launched a hair-do as Purdey in The New Avengers; and alongside Jennifer Saunders, she created her hilarious Bafta Award-winning role as Patsy Stone in Absolutely Fabulous.
She has since become a broadcaster, hosting many travel documentaries, with destinations including the Northern Lights and the mystical islands of Japan. Her latest documentary is all about the 'spice trail'.
