Episode 14
Experts Irita Marriott and Mark Hill go treasure hunting in the Fens. They find an antique that hides a secret and another that could be the show鈥檚 most gruesome buy yet.
It鈥檚 the battle of the hats on this leg of the road trip, as we decide who wears it best between dealer Irita Marriott or expert Mark Hill. Today, they navigate the Fens in search of an antique that will make a fortune at auction. Getting them from shop to shop is a 1960s Triumph, and a bag of sweeties helps to keep their spirits high.
Mark falls head over heels for a very stylish and shiny mid-century kitchen appliance, while Irita uncovers something so gold, garish and gaudy it may not sell at auction. They also find a collectable with a very grisly and gruesome history.
Away from the shops, Mark discovers a massive three-and-a-half-thousand-year-old structure, lost for centuries under the wetlands, and Irita heads to King's Lynn to hear how the humble lives of the town鈥檚 fisherfolk inspired a great 20th-century composer.
And then it鈥檚 off to the auction to find out if the old adage 'If you want to get ahead, get a hat' holds true.
