Steve Wright鈥檚 here with this exclusive countdown of the 40 biggest songs in the modern streaming era. Forget about any historical best-sellers, because this chart is truly stuffed full of surprises!

You can probably guess the nation鈥檚 favourite Christmas songs of all time, as well as which ones sold the most too. But how many of the 70 songs that have topped the Official Singles Chart on Christmas Day can you name? And harder still, which of those have been streamed the most?

The Official Charts Company has compiled this unique countdown. Superstars like Queen, Spice Girls, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Pink Floyd, Robbie Williams, Whitney Houston and Tom Jones all rub shoulders alongside forgotten reality show wannabes and unexpected novelty hits that came from nowhere to land their moment in the spotlight.

Steve鈥檚 got facts and trivia about every one of the songs, and with a combined total of more than two billion streams between them, these 40 tunes are the ones that have really stood the test of time.

Plus, we鈥檝e pulled out some great additional moments from the world famous 91热爆 Archive to enjoy once we get into the second half of the chart, including David Bowie鈥檚 extraordinary plea encouraging TV viewers to buy a famous charity single, the rock band that derailed an X Factor winner鈥檚 dream of hitting Number One over the festive season, and a rare recording from the 1960s featuring the world鈥檚 most famous musicians delivering their seasonal message for fans.
