Indian restaurants have been a huge business, culinary and cultural success. But over the last few years many have had to close. And a lot of those that have survived are struggling because of rocketing energy bills, spiralling food costs and staff shortages. Ankur Desai discusses these pressures with Asian Network Breakfast presenet SMASHBengali whose family has a restaurant in Birmingham, Jeffrey Ali, the organiser of the British Curry Awards, Pav Rouf, who runs a chain of restaurant and cafes across the Midlands and content creator Yazzi Rehman.
