From settlement camps to setting up businesses, how Ankur鈥檚 mum and other Ugandan Asians adapted to life in the UK after being forced to flee East Africa in 1972.

鈥淚t鈥檚 very cold鈥 鈥 what many of the 40,000 Asians said as they got off the plane arriving in the UK for the first time from Uganda. Ankur Desai finds out whether despite the cold weather, the Asians expelled from Uganda got a warm welcome in the UK. Speaking to his own mother, Ankur finds out how difficult it was for her to adapt to life in the UK. Also retracing her history, Vanisha Sparks and her mum travel to a former settlement camp, that鈥檚 now a prison, where her mum was housed by the UK government when she first arrived. And Sanjay talks to his dad about how he managed to build a successful business from scratch in Leicester.
