The UK's Official Most Streamed Songs of the past 70 years, decade by decade.
Ricky Wilson counts down and celebrates the songs created in the 50s, from the year the charts were born, 1952, right up to the end of the decade 1959. These include some huge Christmas hits that still appear on radio, television, major films and social media to this day, plus some big names like Elvis Presley, Eartha Kitt and Dean Martin. It includes the one song that Ricky remembers practicing in his first band – easy to learn but hard to perfect - and for him completely encapsulates rock’n’roll and the whole of the 1950s.
