Ralph McTell in conversation & The Mary Wallopers in session
In his 6th decade as a recording artist, Ralph McTell is in conversation with Anna Massie. Plus Dundalk's finest The Mary Wallopers are in session with music from their debut album
Six years into his 6th decade as a recording artist, Ralph McTell - Kent born and Croydon raised - much travelled, unassuming, English musical legend, continues on a course that has always served him well. In the time honoured fashion of an artist who has always defined his own artistic terms, Ralph's latest album Hill Of Beans is a work of grace, experience and learning; the core of its harmonic and melodic riches contained in voice, songs and six stringed guitar glory. Ralph joins Anna live in conversation ahead of playing at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall this weekend.
Hailing from Dundalk, brothers Charles and Andrew Hendy and their friend Sean McKenna formed The Mary Wallopers as a three-piece ballad group traveling the length and breadth of Ireland singing & collecting songs. Their early live performances exuded a raw energy and their first five track EP, 2019鈥檚 A Mouthful of The Mary Wallopers, perfectly captured their sound and ethos - one filled with warmth, intimacy, chaos and enough sparks ready to light any fire. Their self-titled debut album is out tomorrow and the lads joined Anna in session before heading off on a mammoth tour across the country.
