Alan McGee hosts his personal indie hour

The artist manager, and former boss of Creation and Poptones Records, shares stories of his favourite indie discoveries. Featuring IDLES, T. Rex, Billy Nomates, Hole and more.

Alan McGee has made his mark since the 1980s as a record label owner, manager, DJ and music journalist.

Over the years he has worked with almost everyone from the indie rock scene, from Primal Scream, to The Jesus & Mary Chain, The Libertines, The Charlatans and many more. His label Creation Records was a mainstay in the mid-80s indie movement, with Oasis historically signing to it for their iconic debut album 'Definitely Maybe'. His follow-up, Poptones, had platinum success with The Hives.
