Laura Mvula

Jason Mohammad chats to singer Laura Mvula about her latest album and what it was like performing at the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in her hometown of Birmingham.

She tells Jason about her latest album 'Pink Noise', how she is feeling about playing the show of her life at London鈥檚 Shepherd鈥檚 Bush Empire next month and what it was like performing at the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in her hometown of Birmingham.

Laura has previously won an Ivor Novello Award for Best Album, has been nominated for the Mercury Prize (not once, but twice), 91热爆 Sound Poll, the Brits Critics Choice Award, two BRIT Awards in 2014 (British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act) and won an incredible two Mobos in 2013 (Best Female and Best R&B/Soul).

Also, Zara Mohammed, Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Britain, joins to discuss Visit My Mosque. Visit My Mosque is a national initiative facilitated by the Muslim Council of Britain, encouraging over 250 mosques across the UK to hold open days to welcome in their neighbours from all faiths and none and build bridges across communities.
