29/7/22 Lambeth Conference - God’s church for God’s World
The Rev Dr Isabelle Hamley leads a service from the 2022 Lambeth Conference.
Today in Canterbury, beyond the usual tourists with cameras, bishops from all over the world are arriving, for a once in a decade event, the Lambeth Conference. They gather from many countries, in many languages, bringing with them stories, experiences and hopes that reflect the sheer diversity of humanity. They come with stories of hope, of solidarity and reconciliation, and they come with stories of conflict, mass displacement, war, catastrophic climate change. They gather in threads of life around the world, and reflect on what it means to hold this life in the world together, as God’s Church for God’s world.
This morning's service, led by Rev Dr Isabelle Hamley, comes from Canterbury and marks the start of a series of programmes from the Lambeth Conference.
