Issie Barratt’s INTERCHANGE live in Leeds
Concert highlights from composer and baritone sax player Issie Barratt’s all-female ensemble INTERCHANGE at the inaugural Leeds Jazz Festival.
Jumoké Fashola presents a special edition of J to Z from the Howard Assembly Room in Leeds as part of the inaugural Leeds Jazz Festival, with live music from internationally celebrated baritone saxophonist Issie Barratt’s ensemble, INTERCHANGE. An all-female group, the band brings together some of the UK’s leading instrumentalists and composers. Their current line-up includes award-winning pianist Zoe Rahman, Nérjia’s Rosie Turton on trombone and Caroline Boaden (Art Farmer) on drums. Here they play music from their critically acclaimed debut album Donna’s Secret.
Elsewhere in the programme Jumoké shares music from some of the most exciting acts on the Leeds jazz scene and a classic track by an inspiring Leeds-born bandleader from the 1940s.
