In light of his recent passing, Stuart revisits the influential Greek electronic producer's dramatic synth-driven soundtrack album Blade Runner from 1994. The cult sci-fi film portrays a haunting dystopian version of Los Angeles, where robots called 鈥渞eplicants鈥 and humans live awkwardly alongside one another, accompanied by the sound of long, unsettling synth notes, saxophones and glowing ambient passages. Born Ev谩ngelos Odyss茅as Papathanass铆ou in 1943 and mosty self-taught in music, the pioneering genre titan Vangelis was a band member of Forminx and Aphrodite鈥檚 Child as well as being an acclaimed solo artist and prolific film and television soundtrack composer, winning an Oscar in 1981 for his Chariots of Fire soundtrack.

Also on the show, Dean Blunt, Jockstrap, Erkin Koray, The Durutti Column, Hatis Noit, AA Williams, Boards of Canada, plus more.
