At the end of April, fiddler Iain Fraser went on a mini Highland tour to officially release his F猫is Rois commission, Gneiss. The album was written to celebrate the 30th anniversary of F猫is Rois nan Inbheach; one of the arts organisation鈥檚 key annual events which celebrates Gaelic and Scots music with a weekend of workshops, concerts and sessions. Iain, who was one of the original tutors at the very first Adult F猫is Rois, took his inspiration for this new album, Gneiss, from not only his time spent teaching at the Adult F猫is over the last 30 years but also the landscape, and in the particular the geological features, of the three places the Adult F猫is has been held in over the years; Dingwall, Gairloch and Ullapool.

Three years on from her debut album, former 91热爆 Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year, Hannah Rarity, is set to release her second album To Have You Near. Hannah's sublime vocals have established her as one of Scotland's finest young folk performers, touring internationally with US supergroup Cherish The Ladies and collaborating with some of Scotland's top folk bands. On the eve of the release of To Have You Near, Hannah joins Anna in conversation about the album, her process in putting it together and some of the themes that emerged along the way.
