Ultimate rocker Mick Jagger chats to Johnnie plus another chance to hear Taylor Hawkins' Rock God

Mick Jagger joins Johnnie to talk about his new solo release. Plus, Johnnie remembers Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, with another chance to hear the late drummer's Rock God.

When it comes to rock stars, Mick Jagger created the blueprint. The Stones may well be celebrating their 60th anniversary this year, but Mick isn't standing still. He's just released a brilliantly atmospheric new solo track, 'Strange Game' to accompany a series for Apple TV called 'Slow Horses', starring Gary Oldman. Mick joins Johnnie to talk about his new project and working outside the Rolling Stones remit.
Also on the programme, Johnnie pays tribute to Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, who died last week while the band were on tour. in Columbia.
Taylor introduced the backbeat for a new generation of rock fans when he joined the band at the end of the 90's. His unmistakable charisma, energy and power brought an atmosphere to each and every Foo Fighters gig that can never be replicated. Taylor also worked outside of the Foo's, with his band Taylor Hawkins And The Coattail Riders and new supergroup, NHC. Before he joined Dave Grohl's outfit in 10097, he came to prominence earlier in the decade, playing with Alanis Morrisette.
The shock of Taylor's passing is still raw and the band have cancelled all scheduled touring plans for the foreseeable future. The Rock Show was fortunate to have Taylor as a guest in 2018, when he chose his 'Rock God'. Johnnie brings you another chance to hear Taylor on the show and he'll also play a track from Taylor's chosen hero.
