Seonaid Aitken looks ahead to International Women's Day with a celebration of some of the trailblazers and pioneers of early jazz & blues. Including music from trumpeter Valaida Snow, pianist and bandleader Lil Hardin Armstrong , and singer/guitarist Sister Rosetta Tharpe whose music features in the latest Hollywood blockbuster Death On The Nile. Tonight鈥檚 live session comes from former Scottish Jazz Awards Best Vocalist winner Kitti and her band. Plus Richard Michael鈥檚 Song Book features 鈥楳y Ship鈥 composed by Kurt Weill & Ira Gershwin taking in versions by Ella Fitzgerald, Cassandra Wilson & Liane Carroll.
