Meet Therese
In 2019 Therese鈥檚 husband was abducted by militia in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Fearing for her life, she fled with her five children. Making an arduous journey of over 300 kilometres they arrived in Nakivale Refugee settlement, south Uganda.聽

With a loan from Opportunity International, Therese is working hard to grow her bean-selling business. She鈥檒l then be able to afford to send her children to school. A gift of 拢40 could give someone else a loan to start a business and provide for their family.

Helping refugees in Uganda

Helping refugees in Uganda
Our most recent and innovative project works with refugees in Uganda. To date, we鈥檝e enabled over 5,000 refugees to access financial literacy and finance products. Refugees are building stable businesses and moving from dependency to self-reliance.
