Sean Stillman
A service led by Sean Stillman, minister at Zac's Place in Swansea.
The evening edition of the programme includes My Favourite Hymn.
鈥淟ove your enemies and do good to those who hate you.鈥
Sean Stillman, a Minister at Zac鈥檚 Place community church in Swansea, considers this most difficult and challenging of Jesus鈥檚 teachings. In these difficult and fractious times where there鈥檚 much passionate division on many issues from amongst other things, politics to medicine, how is it possible to be kind to those whose outlook and views are different to ours? 鈥淒o to others what we would have them do to us鈥 is one thing but 鈥渓ove your enemies?鈥
Sean is also International President of 鈥淕od鈥檚 Squad鈥 a Christian motorcycle club, and in this service he recalls a time in the early days of his ministry when he and some of his fellow biking Christians were confronted by some particularly angry and violent people. We hear how they responded.
Readings are taken from the Gospel according to Luke chapter 6, and Psalm 37. Music includes Charles Wesley鈥檚 hymn 鈥淎nd can it be鈥, 鈥淢ake me an instrument鈥 by A Ragamuffin Band, 鈥淲hat kind of love is this鈥 by Bryn Haworth, and Sammy Horner鈥檚 song 鈥淪how mercy鈥.
