Frazey Ford in Session

Cerys welcomes Frazey Ford, who performs live in session. Plus Dr Jan Grue shares stories from his memoir, I Live A Life Like Yours.

Cerys brings you an eclectic selection from her vast record collection. This week there's music from Marta Del Grandi, Ennio Morricone, Betty Davis, Shay Hazan and Neil Foster as she blends genres and eras for your joyous Sunday soundtrack. Cerys welcomes Frazey Ford, who performs live in session from Maida Vale.

Frazey Ford is a singer songwriter based in Vancouver, who not only fronted Al Green covers band in her 20s but was the lead singer of The Be Good Tanyas. Last year she released her third solo album, U Kin B The Sun, the follow up to her 2014 album Indian Ocean. Frazey's style is influenced by her Irish/Cajun/Acadian mother and her love of funk and soul. Frazey discusses working with Al Green's Hi Rhythm Section, being introduced to Bob Dylan's music and how her approach to song writing has evolved.

Plus Professor of Sociology at the University of Oslo Jan Grue shares stories from his Memoir I Live A Life Like Yours. Jan has congenital muscular dystrophy and his research explores issues related to disability and chronic illness or as Jan explains it's about understanding the body and what it means to be a body.

Cerys raids the 91热爆 archive for the voice of Bonnie Dobson to celebrate Bonnie's recent 81st birthday.
