COP26 and fast fashion; an artist's journey from Yemen to Scotland; a powerful new podcast series on children and mental health.

After yesterday’s Global Day of Action for Climate Justice in Glasgow, author & activist Ellie Harrison joins Connie to give a sense of the atmosphere as different communities and groups gathered together.

Peatland is an excellent natural carbon store but as Dr Louise Yeoman reports, as well as having a role in looking after the planet, peatland bogs were also historically valued as sacred spaces.

The fashion industry has a major stake in the future of our climate. Connie is joined by ethical fashion stylist and former fast fashion addict Alice Cruickshank; Andrew Bennett who set up Arkdefo - a design business re-using denim and Fiona Ford an expert and campaigner in ethics and fashion, on what more the industry can do to create sustainable fashion.

During COP26, Glasgow is hosting various indigenous community groups; people who are particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change. Connie talks to Maria Latumahina, who is based in Scotland but is originally from West Papua in Indonesia, where she is working with some rural communities; Sharon Inone, from the Solomon Islands and Adrian Wells, a community development adviser who also works with projects in Indonesia.

Artist Shatha Altowai and her husband, composer Saber Bamatraf, share their story of how the war in their homeland of Yemen led them to look for creative freedom and a new home in Edinburgh.

Children living with parents with mental health issues face unique challenges. A new podcast series ‘My Family, Mental Illness… and Me’, shines a light on many of these under-heard stories. Host Dr Pamela Jenkins from the Mental Health Foundation, and Kayleigh Llewellyn the writer and creator of In My Skin, discuss the realities of mental health illnesses at home.
