It’s the new breeding season at Penguins Rock. There are high hopes for a new polar bear cub at Highland Wildlife Park. Sumatran tiger Lucu is due his annual booster vaccination.
Narrated by Gail Porter.
Spring has arrived in Edinburgh, which means it’s nesting time at Penguins Rock – but the course of love doesn’t always run true. Sumatran tiger Lucu undergoes training to prepare him for a visit from the vet for his annual booster vaccination.
Now that Hamish, the young polar bear, has left Highland Wildlife Park, mum Victoria is ready to be reunited with male Arktos in the hope of producing another cub. But moving Arktos across the park to be with his missus is a huge job, not without risk and involving almost all available staff.
Also at Highland Wildlife Park, the Eurasian eagle owl enclosure gets a makeover, while in Edinburgh the bird section staff recruit extra help to carry out annual health checks on their flock of 27 flighty flamingos.
