History of The World: Tresor, Berlin

The Blessed Madonna is joined by Dimitri Hegemann to tell the story of his club Tresor.

As part of 6 Music's All Day Rave - Back to the '90s, The Blessed Madonna is joined by Dimitri Hegemann to take you back to his club Tresor in Berlin.

At midnight, on March 13th 1991, a basement door opened at Leipziger Strasse 126, Berlin. Through this door, many passed, on their way to defining new terrains in electronic music. There they found a dance floor in the vaults of a closed-down department store which would become known as the aptly titled Tresor - literally meaning vault in German. Tresor and the futuristic techno music that was played within its walls had a seismic impact on, not just Germany, but the world.
