Stuart explores Sun Ra's classic album 鈥楲anquidity鈥�, which was originally released in 1978 and recently enjoyed a 4LP re-release on Strut records. Lanquidity is a record that - as the title suggests - is languid and liquid, musically freeform and markedly different from previous Sun Ra releases. The album was recorded overnight at Bob Bank鈥檚 Blank Tapes on 17th July 1978 after the Arkestra had appeared on Saturday Night Live. It is a unique record in the Ra catalogue and at the time Sun Ra himself said "People are sleeping, and I鈥檓 here to wake them up from their slumber."
