Ken Bruce introduces the 65th Eurovision Song Contest live from the Ahoy Arena in Rotterdam following the Netherlands’ win in 2019 with Duncan Laurence’s ‘Arcade’.

Ken brings you every country’s live performance from the final of the world’s biggest song contest, which is watched around the globe by an audience of over 180million people. Ken will also be joined by broadcaster, journalist and Eurovision guru Paddy O’Connell to share the latest news from backstage and his predictions for the big winners of the night.

After last year’s contest was cancelled because of the Coronavirus pandemic, James Newman returns to represent the UK, although he brings a brand new song, ‘Embers’. The track was recorded last year, and among the co-writers are Tom Hollings and Samuel Brennan - who recently scored a big hit with Nathan Evans’ sea shanty-inspired ‘Wellerman’.

James is a hugely successful Brit Award winning and Grammy nominated songwriter. He won a Brit for British Single of the Year (2014) for ‘Waiting All Night’, performed by Rudimental and Ella Eyre. He has also written hit singles ‘Lay It All On Me’ performed by Rudimental ft Ed Sheeran, ‘Blame’ performed by Calvin Harris ft. John Newman, and ‘Therapy, performed by Armin Van Buuren and himself.

39 countries are taking part in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021, with Armenia withdrawing, and Belarus being disqualified, meaning they’ll miss it for the first time since debuting in 2004. The contest will take place in The Netherlands for the fifth time overall, but the first time this century.
