Clarinettist Julian Bliss on how to find your voice in music

Julian Bliss opens up a selection of music from a clarinettist鈥檚 point of view - revealing familiar and unfamiliar works in a new light.

Today on Inside Music, Julian Bliss reveals how he tries to emulate the human voice on his instrument, whether it鈥檚 Ailish Tynan weaving lines around the clarinet in Schubert鈥檚 Der Hirt auf dem Felsen, or Nancy Wilson singing The Masquerade is Over.

He also finds power in the sound of the string orchestra, with an arrangement of a Grieg string quartet and a lullaby by Gershwin, and we discover what Julian has learned from Sabine Meyer, one of his biggest influences as a player.
