The Piper of Linlithgow - Ross Miller in Session

Gary West has a session with Ross Miller, the official town piper of Linlithgow, plus sets from the Inveraray & District and the Boghall & Bathgate pipes bands.

The office of official town piper goes back many centuries in lowland Scotland, but for most settlements it is very much a thing of the past. On Pipeline this week, Gary West welcomes to the studio a modern day holder of that position - Ross Miller of Linlithgow. It's not all ceremonial duties for Ross, however, as he happens to be one of the finest young players and composers in the country today, as he demonstrates in his full studio session. Plus sets from the Inveraray & District and Boghall & Bathgate pipe bands as well as some musical fireworks from the National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland.
