Vaccine nationalism has seen rich nations hoard millions of doses, while many developing nations have received none. We assess if this divide could threaten the global economic recovery. Also, the Serum Institute of India (SII) is the world's largest vaccine maker by volume, capable of making 1.5 billion doses every year. SII, which is which is licenced to make the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine, is one part of the world's largest inoculation programme, to eventually vaccinate India's population of 1.4bn. But SII's chief executive Adar Poonawalla, said lack of harmonisation between regulators is slowing delivery of vaccines.
